1. Do I need a permit for a fence?

Fences under six feet currently do not need a permit. Any fence that is six feet or taller requires a permit.

Note that all fences should be surveyed in by a licensed land surveyor. Encroachment onto another property, easements, or right of ways could cause a fence to be moved once discovered.

2. Can I do my own work as a homeowner?

Yes, if it is your primary place of residence. If it is a rental owned by you, appropriately licensed individuals will need to be contracted.

3. Do I need a permit for a driveway?

You don't need a permit for the driveway itself. If any type of attachment to the curb or crossing a drainage ditch is necessary, a curb cut permit or driveway approach permit may be necessary.

4. I want to construct or install a pre made carport, what can I do and do I need a permit?

Yes a permit is required to install or construct a new carport.
